What services does Lionforfam.com offer?

We offer gift packages that cover the payment of utility bills (water, electricity, and internet) for a specified period, typically one year. We act as a payment facilitator to help diaspora communities support their families back home by handling these essential expenses.

Is this a one-time payment or a subscription?

This is a one-time payment. You purchase a gift package that is designed to cover utility expenses for a set period, usually one year. It is not an automatically recurring subscription.

What happens after I make a payment?

Upon a successful purchase, we begin making the utility payments on behalf of your designated recipient according to the details of the package you selected. You are responsible for ensuring all recipient information is accurate.

Is my payment information secure?

Yes, your security is a top priority. We do not store any payment information on our servers. All payments are securely processed by CyberSource, a US-based company, in partnership with the Bank of Abyssinia.

What is the monthly limit for electricity usage?

Each package includes electricity usage of up to 500 kWh per month. To put that in perspective, the average resident in Addis Ababa uses around 258 kWh per month, so our limit is nearly double the average.

What happens if my family uses more than 500 kWh of electricity in a month?

As a safeguard, any consumption beyond the 500 kWh limit in a given month will be deducted from the following month’s allocation. Please be aware that if the average monthly usage consistently exceeds this limit, the package may be exhausted before the full 12-month period.

What is the monthly limit for water usage?

Each package includes water usage of up to 20,000 liters per month, which is more than double the average usage for a 7-person household in Addis Ababa (approx. 9,450 liters per month).

What happens if my family uses more than 20,000 liters of water in a month?

Similar to electricity, any water consumption beyond the 20,000-liter limit will be deducted from the next month’s allocation. Consistent overuse may cause the package to run out before the 12-month period is complete.

What are the details of the internet package?

The internet package provides a speed of up to 5 Mbps. Please note that installation fees are not included. If the service is not yet installed, this must be arranged separately with the internet service provider.

What happens if utility providers increase their prices?

If a utility provider adjusts its prices during your package's timeframe, the additional cost will be deducted from the subsequent months’ allocations. This may result in the package being exhausted before the full 12-month period ends.

Can I cancel my purchase and get a refund?

You may request a cancellation and refund under these conditions:

  • Within 30 calendar days of the original purchase date, AND
  • Before the first utility payment is made on your behalf.

Whichever of these two events comes first will determine your eligibility. Once a utility payment has been processed, the package becomes non-refundable.

Is there a fee for cancelling my package?

Yes. All approved cancellations are subject to a non-refundable $30 USD processing fee to cover transaction and administrative costs. The refunded amount will be the original purchase price minus this fee.

How do I request a cancellation?

All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via email to admin@lionforfam.com. We will review your request to ensure it meets the policy criteria.
