These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our services, including the purchase of all utility bill gift packages. By accessing or using the Site, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Services.
1. Section 1 – Acceptance of Terms
By using our Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms, along with our Privacy Policy.
2. Section 2 – Services Offered
We offer packages that cover the payment of utility bills, including water, electricity, and internet services. These gift packages are designed to assist diaspora communities in supporting their families back home by covering utility expenses for a specified period, typically one year. As a payment facilitator, we do not directly sell the utility services but act as an intermediary, providing payment processing services and charging a service fee for our role.
3. Section 3 – Package Details
a. Electricity Usage:
Each package includes electricity usage of up to 500 kWh per month. To put that into perspective, the average Addis Ababa resident uses approximately 8.6 kWh per day, or 258 kWh per month. Our limit is nearly double this average usage. As a guardrail against usage abuse, any consumption beyond 500 kWh in a given month will be deducted from the following month’s allocation. Please note that if the average monthly usage consistently exceeds 500 kWh, the package may be exhausted before the full 12-month period.
b. Internet Services:
The internet package provided has a speed limit of 5 Mbps. If the customer has not yet installed the service, installation fees are not included in the package and must be arranged separately with the internet service provider.
c. Water Usage:
Each package includes water usage of up to 20,000 liters per month. To put that into perspective, the average Addis Ababa resident with a 7 person household uses approximately 315 liters per day, or 9450 liters per month. Our limit is more than double this average usage. As a guardrail against usage abuse, any consumption beyond 20,000 liters in a given month will be deducted from the following month’s allocation. Please note that if the average monthly usage consistently exceeds 20,000 liters, the package may be exhausted before the full 12-month period.
4. Section 4 – Price Adjustments
If utility providers made a price adjustment within the timeframe the additional cost will be deducted from the subsequent months’ allocations. This may result in the package being exhausted before the end of the 12-month period.
5. Section 5 – Delivery of Services
a. Upon successful purchase, the utility payments will be made on behalf of your designated recipient according to the package details.
b. We are not responsible for any delays or issues arising from incorrect or incomplete information provided by you. You are solely responsible for ensuring that all information is accurate and up to date.
6. Section 6 – Cancellations and Refunds
a. You may request to cancel your purchase and receive a refund within 30 calendar days of the original purchase date, OR before the first utility payment is made on your behalf, whichever comes first. Once a utility payment has been processed for your designated recipient, the package becomes non-refundable.
b. All approved cancellations are subject to a non-refundable $30 USD processing fee. This fee covers the costs associated with the transaction and administration. The refunded amount will be the original purchase price minus this fee.
c. All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to admin@lionforfam.com. We will verify the eligibility of your request based on the policy stated in section 6a.
d. After the 30-day period has elapsed or the first utility payment has been made, the purchase is considered final and is non-refundable.
7. Section 7 – Limitation of Liability
a. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our Services, including but not limited to service interruptions or delays caused by third-party providers.
b. Our liability for direct damages is limited to the amount paid by you for the relevant package.
8. Section 8 – Privacy
Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring that your personal information is handled in a safe and responsible manner.
9. Section 9- Intellectual Property
All content on the Site, including text, graphics, logos, and images, is the property of Aspire Utopia Solutions and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not use, reproduce, or distribute any content from the Site without our express written permission.
10. Section 10 – Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
11. Section 11 – Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. While we will post the updated Terms on the Site, we will also notify you of any material changes by sending an email to the address associated with your account. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting on the Site, unless a different effective date is specified in the notice. Your continued use of the Services after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
